Welcome to Indie Blog Scotland, your home for all things independent music.

This blog is operated by Arran Dailly, an independent musician and former member of staff at The Ferret, Preston. Across the last few years of my life I've found myself with an insatiable urge for new, unheard artists with that little edge above the rest. Through working at The Ferret, I've been more than able to come across several bands in this category, and I've done my absolute best to promote them.

On top of that, I learned a lot about the lower end of the industry. The struggles that these venues face, the passion and energy that goes into running these events. The Ferret was saved by the Music Venue Trust in association with Music Venue Properties, and made the front page of NME, with a live broadcast from Sky News and ITV, as well as several other high-profile news sites.

There's so much that happens down in the depths that some people just take for granted, don't appreciate, or aren't aware of.

That's where I come in.

I'm going to spill all the industry stories, share a few of my favourite tales, and keep you all up to date on anything interesting. To start, w/c 30/9/24, I've got a bunch of new releases to share and discuss. Following on from that... we'll see which way the wind blows!
